Rickster's Rants

WELCOME ALL!!

Below you will find a variety of newsfeeds, some from familiar sites.

Comments are below the news, as well as other stuff.

Am hoping to add some civility back to this little corner of the world. Have found some decent news feeds and some familiar ones, as well. For now, everyone that isn't going to be a prick is WELCOME. Comments are open to all and seeing that we are all civilized adults, we will start from THAT point.

ANY story you would like to discuss, make the comment on the most recent blog post. Will do my best to start a thread on that story and we can discuss it, as well.

If it is a WTSP story, we can run a concurrent duscussion, you can post here and there.

Jumping away was MY idea, so ALL are welcome here that are willing to be civil to each other. For the WTSP stories, we can run a parallel CIVILIZED commentary, for other stories, we will go out go our own.

Am QUITE sure that we can ALL learn something from one another and that we can do it with more class and dignity for the benefit of everyone.
Will add feeds, stuff as requested and when possible.

It is MY GOAL that you find this sight enjoyable useful.

Constructive comments are ALWAYS welcomed.

If Health Care Reform had passed 30 years ago in this 'Christian Nation'.....

Greetings,

Has been a while since I posted anything, but it feels as good a time as any....

Some of you may have seen the recent 'dust up' on the WTSP story about the Urologist that put a sign on his Office door that encouraged Obama supporters to go elsewhere for treatment.

The debate in the comments was about as sane as the Dr who did this.

The Hippocratic Oath states above all other things to 'Do No Harm'. What exactly did he think that the people that saw that sign and walked away, experienced??

A Giant FU from a supposed professional telling you that if you don't bow to HIS politics, then hit the road.

'DO NO HARM'. - This clown is already under investigation, the AMA feels he violates his Oath by doing this, and so do I.

First, let me say, I am NOT complaining about the ills of my life. Everyone has their cross to bear. I don't seek to gauge mine as more or less than anyone else, only that I have felt the weight of it since my back issues began.

But, when did these back issues REALLY begin??

Have had WICKED migraines since I was 10 years old. Not once in all the times I went to seek ANY care for my headaches did ANYONE ever suggest an MRI of my neck area.

From what I understand, Degenerative Disk Disease is something that I could have been told of MANY years PRIOR to the onset of the major problems.

Insured, or not, no one ever sent me for an MRI, until the other symptoms set in, too late....

I spent my late teen years until my early 40's being in relatively GOOD shape.

Played a LOT of tennis, some basketball and enjoyed other sports like golf and bowling.

All those things are what busted my back, but I had no way of knowing.

Now, I can do none of the above, and tennis was something very important to me.

Had this Great Nation REQUIRED someone, somewhere along the FOR PROFIT Health Care System, to get me that scan 20 years ago, would have saved me a lot of trouble and I most likely would STILL be working instead of broken.

To think I am only an isolated case would be arrogant. EVERYONE could benefit from a full screening, early on in life to help avoid what I didn't.

I played tennis and basketball, rode my bicycle - all to stay in shape. But the whole time, I was causing irreparable damage to my spine. Impact by impact, day by day, my clock ticked down and I had no idea it was coming.

Looking back, now, and with these new Health Laws coming into play for everyone, can't help but think what would have happened had a little PREVENTATIVE care been done on me. How much time and trouble it could have saved everyone. Then multiply my case by thousands, or more, cause it is a very sad state of affairs, what we have called Health Insurance, until now.

I won't be doing any bungee jumping, or riding any more roller coasters (God, I miss those, too) and I am really OK with it.

No pity, no sympathy required.

If this had not have happened, I wouldn't be sitting here and writing this.

Writing is the window that God opened, when the doors slammed shut, and I have tried to do the best I could with my 'wordsmithing'.

I understand that a Positive Outlook can make a great deal of difference, but it won't get me on the tennis court or any of the GOOD rides at Busch Gardens. Am glad that others are able to do more when they are in bad shape, their joy doesn't subtract from me. O, included.

Am glad he can bungee jump. If I told my Dr. I was planning that, they would probably try to Baker Act me.

My injury is what everyone has told you all your life. You don't know until it happens to you, and pray that it doesn't.

I am FAR MORE fortunate than most, and I am keenly aware of it. These words are not meant as complaints, but an honest recognition of my current station in life.

Found my new favorite thing to do. Express my opinions and debate and learn from others who have insight to share.

Also learned how to deal with Henny Penny's, too, especially on ALL the Obama stuff.

President Obama has performed a great service to us and our future generations. Health Care will no longer be LONG waits at the Emergency Room for the least among us, and whether people want to hear it or not - Is the Christian thing to do, to take care of the sick and the weak. Jesus even used THOSE exact words for a reason.

We are NOT put here to do for ourselves, we are here to make differences in the lives of others. To bring comfort or a smile when it is most needed.

God didn't put us here to just do for ourselves and F everyone else.

These people were falling through the cracks and dying and not enough people cared enough to try and help.

For decades, this has been a HUGE problem. Even working people with full insurance coverage, like I was, were not immune to the greed and cherry picking procedures of these twisted Insurance Companies.

Now, FINALLY, people have stepped up and finally FORCED the people of this purported 'Christian Nation' to ACTUALLY do something that comports with their professed beliefs.

Take care of the sick and weakest among us.

And some of those same people, who SCREAMED how we were a 'Christian Nation' during the '08 election, seemed to have forgotten that being a Christian means more than SAYING stuff, it requires ACTION.

People said Obama was a Muslim, personally, he could be a Muppet, for all I care. He has BALLS and this supposed Muslim just moved your nation toward a MUCH MORE Christian Like entity.

The lives of the sick and the poor, now count for something, when the insurance companies only counted them as ONE THING - LOSSES.

Now, those same people, are people, with dignity soon to be restored.

One would think that in such a Great Nation, these people would not be allowed to languish, as they have, for so long. We always could have done better and now, we finally have.

It is EXACTLY what Jesus would do, in fact He'd go further, but we are headed in the right direction, at LONG LAST.

And it took a man with the middle name of 'Hussein' to bring forth that compassion a TRUE Christian Nation would have.

Go figure.....
